Oh Forgot, An update on Omar : Thanks to all of you that wanted to put an "Amber Alert" out for Omar but all is well. He came home pretty well sauced and had a Barbie Doll on each arm. Did not make it past Mark Security and is still sleeping of his bar hopping bing. Thanks to all for the concern. Mark and Omar (Me 'ead aches!!)

Dear Angelo, You're so right. I went on the BBC website and they were SO together - had all the acts listed in order of appearance with the songs they were planning to play. I'm SO depressed, I hope they put it out on DVD. Madonna's language? Well, she's still trying to be "cutting edge" so to speak. She needs to tour more - did you notice how quickly she ran out of breath? I thought U2 and McCartney did the best consider the patchwork coverage I saw. Oh, Pink Floyd was excellent. Glad to see the boys back together finally - never thought Roger Water's would have gone along - maybe they'll tour again (I'll get the DVD - saw them years ago). Mark

I forgot to say: next time, put Omar in the post and send him over so he can watch "proper" TV. What!?

Thank God for the BBC. They showed the concert in Hyde Park uninterrupted, had great interviews with the acts (Annie Lennox had a great one, very impassioned), then switched over and showed the American concert, then BBC3 re-played the entire thing.
I had concentration problems on Saturday: working from home all day, on the phone or IM'ing with a colleague to resolve a production IT problem, Live8 live and uninterrupted on BBC2 and the ladies' final live and uninterrupted on BBC1...
My colleague even joked with me: "When you grow up you will tell your grandchildren that during Live8 you were resolving dropped network packet issues". Too true...
MTWhat? I blocked that channel a long time ago.
BTW, someone ought to have told Madonna and Snoop Dogg that there were children in the audience and watching at home, and that there was no need for the strings of expletives on such a special day.

I'm afraid that will be the case Gayle - it's Omar's basic pattern when upset......

Well, when they did the first LIVE AID in 1985 they had it pretty much together. I still have the Video tapes that have a lot more on them than the released DVD box set. I think they did a big disservice today. I've never seen such sloopy editing in all my life. A 3 year old could have done better. HORRIBLE

Since when has MTV been virtuous? Not in my lifetime, at least.
I do have a friend (who lives in Philly) who went to one of the concerts (at least she was thinking about it last time I heard but wasn't sure if she wanted to deal with the drunks) and she said she's going to make use of the concert by taking pictures.
