Alastair,
Let's hope you wouldn't get your wings clipped like he did 8-)

Cracking shot mate! Got to say, if I only lived 2 days this is what I'd be doing too!

Hi Colin,
Thanks for your reply. The thing that interested me about the male fly was the way he'd had his wings clipped (presumably by the female 8-)
The Westy coast of Scotland where I live (Arrochar) is indeed one huge photography opportunity! You should make a trip up here for a few days, and bring a laptop with a big disk!! We run a B & B - www.cruachanscotland.co.uk We're in an ideal spot for touring. I always have my camera with me, people still think I'm a tourist!!!!!!!!

This is one of the best insect macros I've seen, Howard! An unusual, coloured damselfly couple - coupling! They may as well have fun in their 2 day life! Impressive focusing at f2.8.
Thanks for your comment on my Greek photoart, "Archaios".
7 indeed!
Must pay a visit up there soon. You must get some stunning photo opportunities.

Hi Enmos,
Thanks for your comment. I was lucky that these two were too busy to worry about my camera getting closer and closer!

Hi Bob,
Thanks for letting me know.... there are lots of them at the moment... they're driving the cats mad! I didn't notice the clipped wing until I looked at the picture.
Thanks for the comment - Howard

Nice detail Howard. They are actually damselflies. The one with the clipped wing is the male.
