Thx Keith. I had (and sometimes still) lots of doubt wether the description is appropriate or not. War, or suggestion of war, isn't fit for mockery and the comment wasn't ment to suggest that, but it still upset people.

Great colors and reflections. I like the sense of humor even after having spent time in Nam. War is not the answer, but we must live each day to the fullest. these colors and setting are great.. the planes were just passing through. Be well, Stan

Beautiful shot, great colors and scales bothly on the sky and on the perfect waveles water texture, a lovely simpol of Netherlands - the super mills - and also two planes filling up the sky as objects, rich for a silhouette photo Sam, excellent! Best regards!

A great part of Holland. Love the silhouettes as well as the pastel tones in the setting sky. Not sure if the contrast between the calm sunset atmosphere and the noise I associate with the overhead plane is needed to make this a very strong image, but I do think it's a nice touch.
Cheers,
Hugo

What beautiful colours in the sunset, and those calm reflections in the water are so serene - I bet the plane flying over started off as an annoyance - before you realised what a good photo it would take! I've included an alternative crop - I hope you don't mind!

Bela combinação de silhuetas, cores e reflexos Sam! Inusitada e belo contraste da intrusão da teconologia na cena! Grande abraço! Roberto.

Lovely sky and composition. Your remark of a surreal atmosphere is very valid, because the whole setting reminds me on pictures by Rene Magritte. Without the planes it could as well be a painting of one of those excellent old Dutch masters.
Regards, Markus

hi dear sam, Wonderful colors and sweeping clouds. A very beautiful scene...I love the mix of colours in the sunset, and the water and reflection give it a very calm and serene atmosphere.

I think this shot has a potential, there is a great symmetry created by the water reflections, I know plants are very distracting and you would have had to move to another point of view, anyway it could be interesting cropping the top of the image and increasing a bit the contrast, it would be a nice shot for the last project, in my opinion of course ;) Bye, Max

The title frightned me at first. The power of words. It's a great picture; good composition and perfect colours, but the suggestion of destruction makes me a bit ambivalent about it.
On the other hand, not a lot of pictures toy with my feelings like this one, so you can say that your goal is achieved.

Reallity is not a lot different these days Roger... It only depends on the location of the few square inches of the world we live in.

Sam, when I was a little boy, I looked at the end of our garden and the sky was just like this, but it was my home town of Bristol on fire during the nightly bomber raids! Not a pleasant memory... I agree your photo has something of that feeling about it but thank God the reality is very different!
