About Welcome back, my dear friends. I'm sorry to bother you with my holiday pictures, but that's what you are going to see in the next weeks. I have to share it with you because I liked the places so much. But, the lovelier the place the less creative I've been myself. Maybe you still like the one or the other. Cheers!

This I took on our first stop in East Tyrol, beautiful place but cloudy weather. But I think the different greens came out quite well.

Thanks, Lily, for your very comprehensive comment and suggestions. I have added a version you might have in mind. I always have to fight for a compromise between documentary and "nice" pictures. The sky in this case reminds me on the evening before the day I took the other picture with the blue sky. Therefore a bit documentary and less "nice" maybe. I'm also trying to avoid framing, since as a newly retired I have no time for these games;)

Kind regards, Markus

What a beautiful place! I love valleys like these. For a crop, you could try going a little tighter on the vertical to reduce the uncooperative sky. Sandwich the result in between a black frame like in a panoramic format. Just a suggestion. :-) The greens look good. Everything sharp as they should be. Wait a minute..those are dandelions!...Brrrr...
ps Marcus in case you don't know, dandelions are an American homeowner's nightmare.

Thanks, Rafi. Our holidays have been great, I combined it with my last business trip (a workshop in Les Diablerets, Svizzerland) and brought us to the Cinque Terre in Italy. Wonderful place! You will see some of the photographs later.

Regards, Markus

I hope you had a lovely holiday, my dear friend Markus. I really missed your insightful comments on my photos.
I sent this photo to my favotites, not just because it reminded me of the book "How green was my valley" we all read in our youth in one language or anothr, but on its own right, colors, composition, you name it.
Thank you for your very generous comment on my recent photos and particularly on my "From the field 4"
I don't rememer how many of Rachel's stories I sent you by now. Altogether I've translater five so far. Please let me know if, when and how many you would like me to send you.
Best regards,
Rafi
