About An extraordinary thing happened to me last Thursday?

I had a phone call from a member of my congregation who lives some 12 miles away. She?d just called on a neighbour who runs a Bed and Breakfast and was introduced to a gentleman from Sussex who was staying there. My friend got talking to this man who said that he was into photography to which my friend replied, ?I?ve got a friend who?s a very keen photographer. He?s my pastor and his name is Chris Spracklen.? ?Chris Spracklen?!!?, said the man, (and I quote): ?He?s one of my favourite photographers!?!!

It turns out that this chap has some galleries on Photobase and had paid a number of visits to my Photobase galleries. So my friend called me to tell me the story and I went out and met the guy for coffee. He, too, has a Nikon D70 and he asked me if I?d like to see some of the pictures he?d taken on his trip back up from Land?s End. I said I would, and stared in disbelief as many of the shots he?d taken were near duplicates of ones I had taken!! He then told me that he?d made a note of places I?d taken photo?s off so that he could go to those same places and take his own pictures!!!! It was so surreal!!!

We had a great time chatting over coffee and it was really good to meet him. When I checked back later I discovered that I?d visited his galleries, too, and had left a very positive comment on his excellent work!!

It?s a small world!!

Best regards to all,

Chris

It's amazing where we meet up with people who know us or others in our family--small world indeed. Lovely picture, Chris, beautifully presented.

It really is unbelievable how two lives can be brought together like that isn't it Chris. It's happened to me a couple of times in railway circles.
This is a stunning image. How you've manged to retain the textures and detail of the white areas is masterful and the clarity of the stamen is outstanding.
Well done.

A small world indeed, Chris! And a great macro here to prove it! Outstanding clarity and details in your flower, and I really like the texture you've captured in the petals.

Nice story. Good macro to illustrate it. Looks as if a macro lens isn't ABSOLUTELY essential to take good macros.

What a neat story Chris,
thanks for sharing it with us.
You're right, it is indeed
a very small world. And of course,
this site for me, seems to make it that
much smaller yet!!

Great floral by the way!

Lori :)
