Mary,

He didn't throw it, but you should have heard him scream just before taking off.

Hi Morgan,

Funny, I did exactly the same thing. I have the lens adapter and hood, plus a Hoya polarizing filter. Haven't experimented with it much though. I'm going to add you to my friends list and keep an eye on your pics.

Cheers,

Todd

Shane,

I did get them, thanks so much. It's been a very hectic day, as I am leaving for Nova Scotia tomorrow. (photo ops, droooolll!)

Sorry I did not have time to reply.

Sorry Todd!!!!!! I had been looking at one of Ivo's shot and my brain didn't catch up!! SORRY!!
Really great shot though.

Did you get the reowrks yet? I emailed them but I fear the files were too big. Let me know. I could burn them on a disk if need be.

Yeah, I've been going nuts with mine, too. Sounds like we've both just bejun to get into photography. :) Be sure to get the lens adapter, though - they work great. www.lensmateonline.com has a good one. I bought a Nikon polarizer and it really helps make colors jump out.

Morgan,

Thanks for commenting. I think the S1 IS is a great, versatile little camera. I'm having a blast.

Great shot. I glad to see others, besides myself, on here who use a Canon S1 IS. Can't wait to see the shot with his mouth open. :)

Hi Colin,

Thanks for commenting. No flash was used on this one. The lighting was almost ideal (small branch shadow). For some reason, he was most content to sit there as I walked past on a path. I have may shots of him. One with moth wide open, screaming at me just before he split with his booty.

The camera settings were f3.1 and 1/800.

Incredible.
I get about in the north england countryside a lot, and I know how shy our exquisite red squirrel is. your focus and exposure are spot on! Did you frighten this little critter with a flash?
Like to know your camera settings if possible.
