Thanks for your comments. I had to talk very nicely to the fly in order to get it to stay still! I was actually waiting for my girlfriend to come out from her house when I took this - the bin was next to the bench I was sitting on. Then I looked around and saw a green bin, and then a red one. What luck!
It was also an unusual sunny day in Cardiff that day, and being about 8am, the morning light gave nice saturated colours.
Hi Nick, at first I dismissed this photo as a distastefull picture, but to give it it's due you have managed to capture the full essence of a rubbish bin, complete with a few flies to give it prescence. The lighting is very well done, and displays the texture and colour of the plastic liner with all it's wrinckles and folds.I especialy like the colour gradation of the blue from highlights to plain colour, to the shadows in the wrinckles, so well done.Congratulations on a most unusual subject.
