I agree - the lighting is somewhat harsh - I made the mistake of arriving at the butterfly pavilion right around 1:00 or so - the brightest, hotest part of the day. The pictures I took later in the day have much better lighting, but many of them didn't turn out as well (compositionally, etc.).

I am thinking I may try to sell my Canon S1 IS and upgrade to the Pro 1 (8MP). My current camera doesn't have a hot-shoe and several other features I would like to have.

Any fixes in PS that would work?

Great compostion and colors Morgan,However I find the lighting to harsh. One way to avoid this problem is to use a diffuser which can be bought pretty cheaply or try shooting on a overcast day which probably doesn`t occur in N.M to often. An other option is to use a flash with a diffuser card on the flash such as the Nikon SB-27. I know you shoot with Canon but I am sure the have something similar.
