your kiddin me??? Iv seen this type of setting so many times, and often wondered how to capture it, youll see I have no shots like this, cause I couldnt do it right, this is fantastic!!!

i guess i was thinking more along the lines of the fight between man vs. nature.. it's a wild viola and the fact that it was so determined to grow and survive in the edge of the sidewalk and curb was just amazing to me. there's 3 wild violas growing in that spot, actually. you can see the other two better in the original, color version, but i thought bringing out the shadows in a sepia tone would show the more dramatic and desperate side of the scene.

Is this titled from a gardeners perspective and they have to be tough to survive a hoe growing in the cracks? Really fills its half of the frame strongly this plucky little plant.
