Thanks ya'll...I'll try this again the next time it rains, since that seems to be the only time these guys come out of hiding...since the grass was very wet, I picked the blade he was on and held it in one hand and my camera in the other, maybe that had something to do with the DOF..not sure, but will try this again :-)

Even with the loss of detail from compression, there is excellent clarity in the blade of green. I would have liked the same detail in the main subject, with more depth of field and a slower shutter speed. I know those guys move fast, but with a tripod and small f-stop you could probably have still frozen the action. (Ha, ha, sorry Bev, just kidding). Good pic, let's see some more shots from your backyard wilderness!

Did you try any from the side of the grass looking stright at the face of the snail? Might be a cool shot to have the thin view of the grass, the eyes of the snail tack sharp and the shell geting fuzzy.

At first i thought it was his slime trail to the right...ugh...:)....nice job bev...maybe a little sharper though and I know he wasn't moving to fast to blur it...lol....:)
