About This is a pebble retrieved from Robin Hood's bay, then carefully placed on my footstool and photographed with 4 diopter close filter.

Was a bit strange - I bounced the flash at 90 degrees right on t my fire place, then held a reflector to the left of it so the light ended up all over the stone to get this balanced and subtle tone.

Boring subject though :-)

Didn't reply to you about this either, you got off lightly with the weather when you came down - I had [used the excuse] bought myself some flowers, got a draw full of silver paper, etc and worked out between the conservatory and the kitchen - I could get you all busy with some - as Den would say - arty farty stuff LOL :) Margaret

Cheers!!

I guess it's a bit like something from 2001 : a space odyssey :-)

I just don't seem to have interesting things around the house to do macros with - it's rammed full of DVD's and wine, but no flowers or crystals like you've got :-(

I'll have to go car booting with Steve when he gets back and get a big box of bric a brac.

I did like the lighting on this though - kind of Zig Zagged from the camera to the fire across the stone to a reflector and back again on to the stone..... if you can picture that?

all good fun.

Entertaining Alastair again tomorrow - he's in Harrogate working - so forced him to dump the car, have an ale or 3 and see whether we can get any decent images of Leeds. Oh, and have a curry :-)

Just a stone - boring - NO It conjures up all sorts of images, - could be a new planet discovered with all it's craters, a type of meteor hurtling through space, some kind of lava from a volcanic eruption, a lump of iron ore - shall I go on, !!!! LOL It is a great composition, with wonderful tones - a masterpiece I reckon - Margaret

Boring......! Not a bit. You hav got this one spot on with its texture and tone perfectly matched(Feel like Hugo de Wolf Now !!!).

Interestingly I was looking for "hyperion" yesterday and found out a commet in Jupitor's space is named after this greek figure 'hyperion'. And you gussed it that hyperion commet looks very much like this one here !

So we shall rise a glass or two for the hyperion...

Ade,

nice shot. Clear and crisp.

regards,
ken.
