Marian - thanks so much for your comment. This one has got me so excited - I was out on my terrace a couple of days ago and spotted this guy, and rushed in for my camera. I took about six shots before he headed off back to safety. It was really an opportunistic moment. AJ

Hi AJ, great composition. I disagree with Khaled. I think you have just the right amount of space next to the man on the left. I like the tension it creates with the large space on right. That is what makes your image exciting.
cheers, Nicole

Hi Sally! I wondered who was going to bring up the sloping issue! But if you look at that white balcony wall at bottom left, you have to make a choice between a distinct haziness on the horizon (thus creating an impression of non-horizontalness..) or really lousy workmanship on the part of the builders. I decided to give the builders the benefit of the doubt (I never know when I might need them). AJ

Khaled - many thanks for your comment, and for thereby propelling this image onto the front page, thus giving it much more attention than it would otherwise have received!
If I had left more space on the left, the image would have included some unsightly new concrete. What I did therefore was push the guy into this somewhat unconventional position in the image in order to try to benefit from the limitations.
Best regards, AJ

I like the composition - with the man at one side! I think it could do to be rotated a couple of degrees clockwise - 'cos I think it is sloping a tiny bit. Is this a work picture?

Excellent compositin AJM... I like the composition and tones a lot but I would prefere more space on the left side behind the guy (IMHO). I like the different tones of the sea in the background... great capture and framing my friend, Khaled.
