I won't spare any effort, dear Linda .. even though i'm not that good photographer.
Why do you feel anxious when it comes to street photography?

I like to observe people in street especially old people .. their faces shine with wisdom and experience .. their eyes speak adages .. I can hear their whisper in my ears: "Don't be proud of your youth! Instead, make use of it .. one day you'll lose it!"
ps...You have much wisdom Ned...:)Linda

Hi Linda, One of my favorite photographic subjects is street! I like to observe people in street especially old people .. their faces shine with wisdom and experience .. their eyes speak adages .. I can hear their whisper in my ears: "Don't be proud of your youth! Instead, make use of it .. one day you'll lose it!"
Message and technicalities, together, make a good picture!
I believe that this picture isn't, technically, a good picture at all, but I just liked the message it has, together with the upcoming picture.
For this particular picture, if I had replaced the lens with the 50mm f1.8 lens (which can give very limited D.O.F.) I would have basically missed the opportunity to take the picture!
Thanks a lot for your precious comment, Linda!! It's one of the best comments I have received :)

Ned this is a very clear image, unfortunately we can't always pick our backgrounds...I do like what you did with the other background in the comments section, but we can't see the detail in his face, and I also think that the dark pants eliminates some of the depth, causing a flatter appearance..I like the detail in the first image, there is light and shadow, depth and color, the color of the cane and the detail in it, bring out the greens in the image...I like the title a lot and thanks for the settings...hehehe....I'm looking forward to the next one, dear friend....:)Linda

Hi Ori, Yes .. you're absolutely right. I didn't have the choice as I was about 2m away from him and using a standard focal length of 70mm (at it's max. aperture opening (f/4.5).
The only thing i could do was to take another shot from a different angle of view, with a less distracting background:

Hi Ned, I think the DOF is too big here making the background too distracting Ori.
