this is a great shot, an excellent use of a slower shutter speed.

Thanks for the comment. Yes, I did use a tripod. I also used a circular polarizing filter, which allowed me to leave the shutter open just a little bit longer. Luckily, the bird sat still for me for a couple of minutes, letting be get a bunch of shots like this one.
