About I could have cropped out the furthest one on the right, but left it because it is symbolically crooked and distiguished. The six candles symbolize the six million Jews who perished in WW II in varios Nazi concentration camps ot "Death Marches." I examined about 2000 survivors for restitution and know their stories inside out. The only one who came out of a concentration camp mentally more or less intact was a member of a resistance group. Ileft the portfolio. project and category vacant because I could find no portfolio, photo project or catgory for this photo.Category was retrospectively added because it was demanded.

Excellent symbolic photo Rafi! This is a very sad photo but also very good to bring to light for those Who don't know!! An incredible loss of life!
My prayers go out to survivors and their families and anyone effected by this terrible event!Even though this happened many years ago it is something the world must never forget or let happen again!GOD bless You Friend!................John

This carries very touching and emotional symbolism. Who could not be moved? As a photo, though, Jorge has some fine, thoughtful suggestions. I would go so far as to suggest your creating another version-- perhaps even simpler and more poetic.

Best regards,
--George

Rafi, I like the inclusion of the shadows behind each candle, and I agree about the symbolism of the last one.

nice symetrey, Rafi-- almost abstract. Thanks for the background info as well-- we can never know too much about such a horrific event such as the holocaust.

Great plays of shadows and shapes, Rafi. Thank you for the description. I've watched Schindler's List movie, and what a tragic sad story. I still can't figure out how human can be cruel among themselves. My prayers for those who suffered from this tragedy. THank you for sharing.

It's good and unfortunately very necessary to be reminded on this tragedy from time to time. Thanks for sharing, Rafi.

Kind regards, Markus

i'm not sure how it works here,i'm new....seems to be friends commenting on friends...i don't know.
But I have a couple suggestions:
1. i would have had moved the camera up to compose it better than staright through the center and to get rid of what looks like an air conditioner or something....very distracting
2. Did you use a flash?...i think the lighting really takes away from the atmosphere of the candles.....gives them a plain look and makes the smoke indistinguishable
Other than that i like the concept
:)
