Amazing floral macro Ken, the focus is absolutely perfect as is the dof. But it is the colours that blow me away - outstanding photograph my friend :-)

Best wishes,
Steve

I think it's more to do with my monitor than anything else Ken - they appear nice and bright on this, but elsewhere a bit on the dark side!!

I do underexpose a little to avoid burining out the highlights - then rescue the image in Photoshop later.

Also, you get richer colours by underexposing and using a polariser.

I like a bit of gravity in a shot - something to give it weight, and a dark look usually does it - but if it's too dark you loose any detail - quite a tricky balance you'll agree :-)

Cheers

Ade

Ade,

Pretty good. Very much the same theme as you have mentioned.

Ade, If you don't mind, can I point out something I noticed in most of your images -

You tend to keep them all bit dark.

I always wondered is it because of the filters you tend to use. But I think that you have a prefrence to make them look bit dark.

Have you noticed it yourself. If so is it a delibrate decision to present them that way.

regards,
ken.

a beauty of a floral Ken, the colours work together so well.

I've been having a go recently and came up with smoething very similar - though the flower was on it's way out so lots of imperfections.

This is a wonderful series you're doing. You've isolated them into pure colors and basic lines and forms.
