About Since when did you last drop a tear in my hands...
Since when did last touch my face and told me I should be glad...
Since when...
Since when did you said don't worry when soon enough everything will be wiped out by the rain...
Since when...
Since when did you feel my pain...

A little boy in an overpass in front of Greenhills Shopping Center in San Juan, Metro Manila. Asleep and not minding the burning heat from the sun, I myself can't last the heat but as I reached the top of this overpass, I hurriedly took out my camera and took some shots of him... a lady who just had some shopping eventually emerged from the stairs behind the boy, ...I wonder if she felt the pain in this boy or she's much more aware of me and my camera...

I like both of these shots but this one is my favorite of the two. The vignette works very well. The elements in this picture combine to tell the story better than any words could. B/W is perfect here. Heart breaking image.

Larry, Thank you for your kind comment on my picture.

yeah, right! She's more curious of my camera than the boy... which is also true, there are more things in the world today that easily catches our attention and makes us lean back from reality. Thanks for visiting, Alastair and for such comfortable and true comments you've shared! Well appreciated! :)

What a sad critique on the way we live and treat others who share this world with us. Unfortunately this scene is replayed in far too many places across the world, in different cultures, temperatures and surroundings. Excellent photo and something I can imagine seeing on a charity flyer. Sadly I agree that the woman was far more likely to have been concerned with the camera than the boy. Excellent

I agree with you, Hang. Our leaders must have to do more, if now, they're doing what they can... they should do more, their actions never reaches this kids... I guess all we can do is to give awareness to others thru our photos, by that maybe in someway we can help... Thanks for understanding the message, my friend!

So sad to see children have to struggle like this, Larry. In my country, there are a lot of scenes like this. I wonder why our government seem didn't do anything about this. They are our next leaders!
Thank you for sharing, my friend.

Hi John, I'm not really sure if someone did help.. But I guess the boy was able to collect some penny in order for him to buy some iced tea as you can see there below his feet. The heat was so terribly exhuasting, I cant even last long up there to take more shots of him. The iced tea must have cooled him down and brought him to sleep... my heart goes out for this boy...

Dear Larry,
I can hear the Phil Collins's song again in your composition...
ANOTHER DAY in PARADISE... I know that what we'll do echoes in eternity...
Helping someone is helping ourselves..
Capturing them is way to make awareness on people.
Thank yor awarness and congratulations for the photo.

Unfortunately... society seems to puch away the plight of the hjomeless - possibly as much through the fact that we can't help them all as anything else.

Sadly, I think the lady would have been more aware of the camera than the boy.

Very nice evocative image. like the black and white and the subtle vignette effect. Great raw and truthful image. Nicely frames too.

Steve
