What a wonderful portrait of a lovely young woman. I like the 'old masters' feel to this acheived through the canvas and distressing. Her face and hair really do stand out in this image and it isn't until you take a closer look you can see the shoulders and body. Simply amazing work Carol...I really love this!

Forget for the moment your photoshop excellence, what really impresses me is your capture of that "insecure, know-it-all, distracted, yeh I'm listening" attitude that is the essence of our teen-age years. That my dear, is VERY hard to do. Wonderful portrait.

Same as the other comments - lovely job.
Most interesting is the name - Helyn, like Hellen?
Interesting textures and effectes - looks like an effort to mask and blend to get the appropriate composition.
