Never waste an opportunity to take a great photo - no matter the stares you may receive! Wonderful story to go along with this photo. The gradation in color from oranges to soft pink/red is what attracted me to this picture in the first place.
I enjoyed your comments about using a 2M camera in your "My picture won" photo. I use a 3.2 Mp camera and I have printed nice looking 8x10's. As for all the company talk about size limitations....I have worked for a developers and, yes, we are still told to tell people that lower resolution just won?t cut it for large prints. I find that the conditions of the photo, such as light, creates the difference between big prints and not the technology.
Thank you for your comments on my photo "St. Simon's Island Marsh". I appreciate it!

Excellent idea....great picture...the color of this orquid is beautiful.... Jim...thanks for your comment in my San Basilio Church in Moscow. In fact I did use a very small tripod ..as small as the size of a hand. Easy to carry with you and put it every where to take a picture. In my portfolio there is one night picture of the Kremlin at night which is even better for details as a night picture. Thanks again...great to see your portfolio. You have wonderful pictures.

Jim I guess you have an understanding wife, 'just take your jacket off dear and move away from the table while I take a shot of this beautiful flower' - 'I am sure you added, but not as beautiful as you' LOL [I've even got visions of you sitting down at the next table to get the shot :) Lovely shot Margaret
