Thanks for your comments Pat. Rollers are about 6-8 inches (15-20 cm) long, and aren't birds of prey. Although, this guy used this perch to go hunting for grasshoppers and other insects, and made several forays while we were there. I've seen them in eastern and southern Africa, but don't know the full extent of their range. They're a favorite of the photo-safari crowd.
Excellent James! I won't mention the wing tip because I am sure you are allready aware of that(I guess I just did). I think it could use a touch of sharpening and a tweak of contrast. But still a great capture of a very cool looking bird! Is this a bird of prey? I have never seen nor heard of it before.
