Yes, exactly. Oh Cheri, you are so much on the same wavelength as me. I purposely made her quite small in the frame as she is a small girl to start with and with just a peak of the rock showing but a 'huge' expanse of sky really accentuated how small we really are in this world.

I LOVE this one!!! I love the deep colors in her dress with the background of the pastel colors of the sky. This is a magnificent capture! I also like that you don't chop the sky off the top of your pictures. I usually get scolded for leaving too much "top" on my photos but honestly I like that look. Gives you a feeling of being just another small being on this huge planet. :)

This is a very nice pose and great choice of dress. The luminescence and colors/texture of the sky make a wonderful background. You are right about the lighting and this may have been a good situation for use of a reflector,great image regardless. I tried illumination effects in PSPro8 with these results.

As I thought about this image more, I reflected on the rich earth tones - the blue of the sky; the rich dark tones of the dress; the subtle color of the rock formation; the smooth textures of the sky and contrast of the dry grasses. Hope this makes sense to you.

Judi, one might be tempted to diminish the power of your photographic images because of the sheer natural beauty that you include in so many of them. You manage to integrate that beauty so well into the images. Keep posting and I will keep looking. Very creative and colorful and dynamic and stirring....and!
