About	Moon on 3/26/2005. Color as shot. Have you ever noticed how you always see the same side of the moon when looking at it? This is because of the effect of Earth's gravitational pull on the moon. It has forced the moon into a rotation that is equal to its revolution around the earth. The moon is doing the same thing to the Earth very slowly, which can be seen in the tides.
