Thanks for the comment, Larry! The shot was taken late in the afternoon, so the background, which was a flowerbed, was in deep shadow. In the post processing I increased the contrast slightly, which I usually have to do anyway, and that makes the shadows a little darker as well. Hope that helps!

Nice macro shot Dave, I like the color tones but I wish you increased the deapth by clossing the apperature some more....
