About I went to our local primate sanctury yesterday to try to get some photos. The chimps were in their house and refused to come out. I couldn't resist this picture taken through the glass. He was facinated with my camera. They are about 4 years old. My second love after children are our cousins the chimps. :-) I was happy with the picture the "dirt" on the glass is their spit they wipe all over lol. I just felt this told a story.

Great expression, and the close shot really gives it an "in your face" kind of look.

Very nice story indeed. The chimps are children so they are probably as intelligent as the child playing with them. It is also why they are afraid to go outside. No adult for protection. Thanks for responding. Andree

Thank you Andree for the beautiful comment. I have to admit I ended the day at the sanctuary feeling terrible. The little chimps do not care to venture outside although the gate is open they seem to spend all day in that cement room with people staring at them through the glass. Yes I was ashamed at us "humans". They sit and rock back and forward in between interacting with the spectators and fighting each other for the balls etc. One wonderful moment I couldn't capture was one palying "hide and seek" or "Peek a Boo" it you prefer around a cement pole with a little human child of about 3 years outside. HIs intelligence made it so heartbreaking but yes it was also sooo funny. He seemed to know the child was a baby and would peep and wait for the kid to see him then duck back the other side of the pole and wait again. A highlight for sure.

It really does tell the story. Sad but beautiful shot. Love the tilt of your camera, really drives home the sense of isolation. Beautiful eyes. I am ashamed of the human race often for the callous way we treat our fellow beings. Then there are people like you who care. Thank you so much for sharing. Your friend and art and heart. Andree

Great expression, re your reply that red shirt is a rather small area to practice on, one thing you need to watch our for is the 'tolerance' around the area you are picking up. If you have a large number on a small area it will not pick up much,. Try really upping the brighteness or the hue and saturation often shows you quite dramatic changes, [very often not what you are after - but it is fun LOL]
