The 'Cut', for the uninitiated, is colloquial English for 'canal', but this part of the canal near Wombourne in South Staffordshire probably didn't need as much 'cutting' as many other stretches elsewhere...
These days, of course, they're wonderful places for relaxation - or for living on. Narrowboats are steadily increasing in price as more and more people like the idea of an alternative lifestyle.
And if you get fed up of a life on the water, maybe a friendly neighbour will let you borrow his horse...
