What a great shot here, the old saying is ?f/8 and be there? well, you were there for this shot, I?ve been to belle isle and Detroit enough to know that we don?t always get that quality of ice on the river. Big, thick, sharp, shards of ice like glass. I haven?t been to this pier yet, but I will. ~Mike

Congrats on the commission Audra, doesn't it just make you feel so good. I get that feeling anytime someone buys one of my images. I just sit at home smiling all day thinking, "My work is on someone else's wall!!!! How cool is that!!!" Anyway I am very happy for you, and glad to hear from you too. You haven't posted in a while. By the way ...... this has been an amazing SPRING here in Collingwood. Sunny and warm, only a couple of rainy days (And one snowstorm), if all springs were like this it would be wonderful. I even got money back from my income tax!!!!!! There are advantages to being a struggling photographer after all. Later "Babe" and I encourage you to post a photo of your "Angels Uniting in Sky", when you are finished. Have a great day Audra. P.S. Your success has made my day!

Nothing really deep, it's just all the dog shit buried in the snow melts, and stinks in unison. Makes the world smell awfull. Collingwood usually smells great! Forests, open fields, breezes off Georgian Bay etc. Actually there's more to it, but not for here. I love summer, winter, and fall though. Anyway spring is very short in Collingwood, winter then almost an instant summer. One day you're skiing ....... 2 weeks later you're out on your bike. Enjoy your spring Audra, and keep shooting ..... and do you still paint too??????

Well..wait... how come you don't like spring..? You don't like the season itself..oh..or maybe it represents a bad time in your life...err.

Nope, the only season I don't like. I hate it! Well maybe not hate ...... (working on developing inner peace here) ..... how bout I have a strong dislike for it. Love this image even more the second time I looked at it.

Nice shot for a variety of reasons, .... comp., exposure etc., but I really like the way you caught the sun reflecting off the ice. It has a "spring is coming" glow. Not that I like spring. You realize we call Windsor the "Banana Belt" here in Ontario. You actually look north and see Detroit.

Very nice composition here (the law of thirds and all that) and what is that? Is that like big things of ice floating around? Whoa, that means it's gotta be REALLY cold (plus you don't want to fall in cause of hypothermia and all that, right? - it's not good for you from what I understand) It's quite pretty how the light is bouncing off the ice floats. Very nice job all in all - ALMOST makes me wanna ride my scooter down that pier (it's one of those kinda shots). Mark
