Thanks Cheryl, again :-)
I am not any where close to admitting to doing this a a job. Though I certainly accept any and all assignments from friends and family (this one was for an event poster of a family member and the wedding was for a friend) I still have quite a long way to go, most certainly. I do hope that when I die, I go with a camera in my hand though.

She is really pretty. Another day will prove better I'm sure. Are you doing this for a job?

Luke,
Again, thanks. I know that I can overcome this for the next time. I used the D70's built in meter (which has great reviews), just think I didn't use it properly. An assistant would be good, but when you're not paying, they get tired after 15 mins. (lol). I'm trying though.

Well, Isaac...I think this is a good excuse to call her back and practice more. Conceptually you have got it down. Mastering the technical aspects is something different than mastering the creative component. I think you have reached a level of creative intuition now. You can focus on the technical aspects of your shoot. Do you have a good light meter and flash meter? Maybe an assistant would be helpful!

Kevin,
Yes, it's actually pretty bad...considering that this young lady is posing "on the beach, on a beautful S. Florida afternoon". All of that washout is beautiful scenery :-(. (lol).
I never give up though and will be trying again,
Thanks.

The shot isn't that bad but having a white background on white clothes, just wases them out. It's a shame as it was a nice shot. Keep up the good work.

One thing I end up doing is intentionally UNDER exposing by about one stop, and then adjust levels in Photoshop. Too bad about the learning experience, Isaac; it'll get better next time.
