Wow these guys have Balls!....well small ones in this case. Hmmmm i think i will stay more in the warmer part of the ocean. Today was T-shirt day on the water it was so warm.

Just viewing this shot makes me feel cold Jim. You've captured the action so well and the water textures give out the feel of the ambient temperature.

Thanks for the advice, some good info, I was shooting from my van window between 2 trees!, Of course up here when the sun is shining, nobody surfs ;-), and I wasn't getting out today !!

I have never understood how my friends on the East coast surf through the winter. I have a hard enough time with the water temp here in SoCal in the winter.
A couple of things jump out at me with this one. If you can, avoid the 'butt' shots. Seeing the surfer's face adds a bit more impact. I would have probably tried to frame him a bit more to the left so that the viewer would be able to see what the face of the wave was doing. Lets you know where he is going.
