Really like this- it grabbed me immediately! Can't say I go for feminine tasks either! But this makes cooking far more attractive!

What makes a woman? What makes a Mum? Is it the traditional suspect? Or is it the heart? the mind? The hope? What makes a traditional mum? It is the love and care and thought... It is the being rather than the feeling. Cake... yep. Cake is good. Yer Mum is smiling. Yer Mum is smiling.... Just a passing comment. Take from it what ye may... JIL

She and my mum are probably swopping recipes and tutting over what we are up to down here! My mum was very proud of her baking and home cooking and she used to joke that we were going to have "bought cake". This was something she would never ever do. Now me being a working mother of three I do sometimes indeed buy cake and I wonder what mums take is on this!

That looks so so good. I do the same - when my mother was alive, I could never ever make a decent scone, since she died, i can make scones, and I thank her for that. I was the 'cake maker - and she was the scone pastry maker, I wonder if she is up there making cakes now. Margaret
