Thanks James for the comments and for the feedback, it helps! Indeed at the time of this photo my camera was still warm from the box. I was as new to the camera as it was to me lol. (still is even 6 months later and I'm still learning)

This particular spider just seemed like a natural "model" as he/she/it just sat still while I zoomed in and made all sorts of movement around it to get the right shot. I too love the patterns and details. It is amazing the beauty in nature that a macro lens allows us to peek into.

Great macro of this ittle beast, I think you had your camera's white balance set to daylight but actually tok the picture in tungsten light thats what gives it the yellowish cast. Even so you had done a great job of capturing the detail, I love the individual legs hairs and the pattern on it's abdomen is fantastic. Nice work.
