Amazing colors Chris! and very interesting experiment. There are a lot of images being uploaded to the site daily, and probably people would scroll with their eyes and will click on the ones that have some attraction, and over-saturation is one big attraction. I really think that images will get better chance if the "Photo Critique" section is showing only one project as the default setting, and then the user can choose to view more or all projects if they like, but just viewing the world in one page/thread is not suitable now I think.

Quad Errat Demonstrandum as they say Chris. Not sure about the spelling so QED. You can't get away from it though, it's still a stunning image. Den

I walked into your trap ;-), the strong colors are very pleasing and emotive, indeed. A good point, I am guilty myself: with PS at hand and ratings in mind - I am tempted to push the saturation....

Hm..yes..you're right!! BUT... this is much more 'unusual' than the previous one. The colours are dragging you to it... you simply got to see what this is!! The sky IS overdramatic and we all know it's not 'real', but still we like it. I think it's a good idea NOT to know the photographer the first 24 hours. Then you simply comment the photos yuo actually like... instead of using time on commenting a bunch of friends bad pictures.. !! Then you would really know what's good or bad, perhaps not always in a photography way, but in taste etc. Hm.. Each time I do something different I'm told...Oh,not at all like you!! I find that annoying... :/
Hugs.. Merete

You got it in one, John!! If you want a lot of 'unsolicited' interest just load up a shot with a lot of bright colours ~ preferably a sunset!! It seems that the inherent quality of a photograph is not enough, in itself, to attract a lot of attention and response. I know some really excellent photographers on UF who get very few comments and views, for one or both of the following reasons? i. They either can't, or just don't, leave many comments themselves. And? ii. Their photo's are not full of dazzling colours. Just wanted to try and 'prove' my theory ~ and, judging the response to this hastily put together fantasy composite, I think I just did. Have a great day tomorrow ~ and today!! Best regards, Chris

You passed Chris!Ok I give up ,what's the theory? If a beautiful, colorful sky and simple silhouette will draw peoples attention? If a well taken sunset of bold beautiful color can grab ahold of someone? If the hands of GOD create the most wonderful images there are?In either case the answer is yes, on the other hand Your theory may be something very different!Let Me know Pastor! Teriffic photograph My friend! take care...........John
