Elaine's studio looks out to the sea, giving her some of the inspirations and synergy for many of her paintings. At the same time her farm consumes much of her time with all that entails. Never mind juggling a family somewhere in between. For many of the years that I have known her, she has gone without much of what we have come to think of as normal, such as electricity,telephone and running water. She has been very proud of her simple life style as it was her choice to live that way. My guess is, that it allows her a connection to the very things that she deems so very important, without all the distractions that after awhile drive us "city" folks crazy...... but we don't know it......lol
Her sincerity and integrity makes her one of my great friends on this tiny island.

Great self portrait of this artist. Viewing it in color really tells me a lot of this person and etc... Nice color, lighting, compostition, and etc... Nice shooten.
Tim, your studio series is fascinating. I hope you continue documenting the artists in your community. It seems that this collection of images could be an important historical collection sometime. It tells the story of a unique community at a specific point in time.
