I saw this work yesterday. It got into my mind and persistently was resurfacing in front of my eyes. I felt a strong desire to see it again and noticed that you posted a different version of it in warmer tones.
I think this version is better because the cold tonality emphasizes the overall gloomy and very subconsciously tense image. There a great deal of mysticism in this work. Seems that there is no explicit compositional leading subject, jet it does have a strong compositional unity.
What is it created of? The horizon that seems close but yet unreachable because of the swampy road? The birds that add huge tension?
I think that the scratchy and messy texture works extremely well and boosts the inherent tension of the image.
To me this is a very remarkable work of yours.
