Having shot a few of these guys I have to say , I like the shot, it is almost abstract in nature. as far as the crop etc, I would guess you didn't crop, but shot and what you got was what you got ?? jimc

Excellent I guess I'm naiive because I knew nothing of this backward flying bird. What a treat it would be just to see one of these. Great detail and the lighting is very good the way the wings are illuminated Well done. Lee

I thought it was a Wherethehellami bird, but then I know nothin. Irrespective of the wing clip Greg, I reckon it's a great capture. The lighting through the wing feathers is spectacular. Den

Some people are so naiive. Don't they know this is the famous curry-eating, backwards-flying Kootybird?
It's staple food is hot spices, as a result it flies backwards to keep its bum cool. Very difficult to get a head shot as it tucks its head in to aid aerodynamics.
Regards Steve.

It's annoying because the tones and colour are so stunningly beautiful, as is the DOF on the water and the wonderful mood of the whole thing. But you have a clipped wing and no head... the technical is great but the subject lets you down a bit... too bad.
