About Well... So it was sunset on our Photoventure? and me and my friend had a bit of a debate on the idea that sunsets are all too common a photo and that they are nothing "special." Now in some sense I won't deny that, because everyone (or at least anyone who wants to take good pics) always will end up taking a sunset picture once in their photo life, if not many more times...

So I reach the conclusion in my mind that if I were to take a sunset picture tonight, it would have to stand out much more than normal and be something different than a regular sunset. SO I decided to include the tree more in the frame and composition of this to add an extra element to an otherwise "typical" sunset. The tree, with it's tinges of snow, adds that foreground element of subsistence to what otherwise would be a picture comprised solely of silhouetted trees in the same background plane. It also (in it's upside-down L shape) frames the left side of the portrait-style picture. So... this is in my essence, one of the few pictures this evening that I think stood out among others. Enjoy.... :)

Hey I just wanted to comment to you, and also make this a general comment to all who view this, that there is a print version available that can be purchased in high resolution glossy/matte format of the image (without the border) and wanted to forward that link...

You can find the print version available HERE:

Thanks for all the comments so far!! =)

I have to agree with you. For a sunset to appeal to me anymore it has to have been worked hard for... Its just too easy for digi photographers to play with levels and saturation and create eye-candy from a sunset...

This has been well worked, and the inverted 'L' frames the image well. I also like the way you have made certain that the sun is behind the tree to prevent blowing out the image.

I know sunsets are not the zenith of artistic photography, but I still enjoy both shooting them and looking at others' efforts. I like the way you have used the tree in the foreground to frame this shot. Great colours too.

Colori davvero spettacolari, anche se la composizione risulta un po' confusa....

Ciao
