good action shot I agree too - yopu might take a look at my portfolio .. I've been taking some similar shots for a local paper with the D100 whic is not too dis-similar from your camera, you might get a few ideas

This is a great action shot. I took the liberty of adjusting the black point and the white point in the histogram and while I was there increased the level of the midtones a bit. I hope you like it.
