Fantastic! Love the triangular forms created by the shadows. I think the color is much stronger than either of your B&Ws. In the B&Ws, the form of the trash can gets lost for me --- it looks flat. Here's a B&W that I think comes close to being almost effective as the color: channel mixer with all at 33.

Wonderful shadows! Photography isn't just technical issues, but it's definitely in photographer's eye and feelings. This is for sure an unusual vision.

Elegant! A favorite. I can tell this camera has a very fine lens on it. I've heard it discussed how some of the classics have this inner glow, inner light thing going on, and I feel this is one of them.

It's very interesting how different these 2 B/W versions look. I think I prefer the second, because it focuses attention more effectively on the shadow.

Here is the other version, with high red channel, and negative on the others. What do you think?

As you suggest, I tried b&w. I used channel-mixer with different setting to produce two completely different b&w's. Here's the first one. To get the dark wall I used a positive green channel, with the other negative.

Good eye to spot this shadow, Gaja. How many people walk by here every day and never give this trash can a second glance? Best wishes, Kurt

I was immediatley attracted to the thumbnail Gaja. I spent some time exploring the very same rubbish bins and their shapes and shadows here in New Zealand. Top marks seeing the image and you composition. Regards John

I love this shadow. Coolest shadow ever.
But what I also like about this is the diagonal created by the large shadow higher up on the wall. Very nice!
