About A Berber girl, age maybe 12-13, taking care of a baby, probably her brother, in a remote Atlas Mountains town. This seemed to be a common practice in the area, probably so that Mom could get the household/farm chores done.

Beautiful, Ken. Wouldn't be the same without the feet. I'm sure this will make a wonderful print if you're so inclined.
Personally, I enjoy your "people in context" as you so state in your bio. This one especially.

I think this is just perfect the way it is. Beautifully composed with a wonderful balance of colours in the girl's clothes with the door behind and the stones.

The scan is actually quite sharp, even after I reduce the file size to around 150k for uploading purposes. Nonetheless, even though the image size is within the guideline of 400-800 pixels in each direction, the image on the web site is not as sharp as the 150k file in my computer. I don't understand this, it happens with other images too sometimes.

Good candid shot.

I think the cropping (or lack thereof) is just fine. However, I'd have preferred to see it a bit sharper. Scanning slides and negatives seems to result in a slight loss of sharpness which can easily be corrected using photo-editing programs.

Good idea, Benjamin, but for me, the position of her feet is an important part of her body language.

Great picture. I find it a very difficult task to take pictures of people while I am traveling through an area. It becomes much easier when I am in a place for a while and get to feel like a part of the surroundings.
This pictures tells a lot. But have you tried cropping off some the bottom, maybe to her knees, some of the space to the left, and some space above her head? I think it may tighten the shot a bit.

wonderful intamite shot of someone's true life, love her outfit, the background and stones..all adds to the uniqueness of showing what is important in the shot..I think..well done!

Beautiful relaxed portrait! I love the way she's holding his little cheeks, very sweet. The skin tones are beautiful!
