About
This was taken on the Elk and Bison trail at the Land Between the Lakes National Reserve.
Taken just as the sun was setting and unfrotunately the sun went behind the clouds at the peak time, which was a shame.
Taken hand held while kneeling, 560mm focal length, 1/100'th second, third in a series on servo mode.
I have found that if you have to hand hold a large lens with slower shutter speeds, shoot servo and get 5-6 shots at one time, your odds of getting a sharp one are much higher.
Bob, This is fantastic. The composition is excellent, and the sharpness is remarkable considering it was hand-held at 1/100th (even if it was one of several taken rapidly). So much for the 1/focal length rule!
Hi Bob, it's been a while.... The disturbed look in this elk's eyes is fantastic. This creature stands out beautifully against the crisp, frosty dew tones of the wintery woods.
