David,
In the Netherlands this sort of hunts on defenseless animals has always been forbidden !!
The dogs only hunt/follow a scent of a fox.In fact they hunt nothing !!!

.....hasn't the sport of killing defenseless animals by setting a pack of dogs on them gone off a bit since 2005, these guys aren't clever, they are a grotesque reminder of a time long passed. tally-ho, david.

Like Hugo, I was totally unaware that hunts of this kind were held in The Netherlands. As you know, hunting has become a big political issue in Britain. The photograph? Great! I love the expressions on the face of the two hunters in the front - especially the one with the raised whip!

When you search for "slipjacht" in Google you will see that there are lots of hunts in the months october - march. Nearly every weekend.

Hi Gregoir, Didn't know they still organised slipjachten in the Netherlands! Very well captured shot, filling the composition, and including the entire flock of dogs (probably not the correct phrasing, but you'll understand what I mean. Superb soft lighting too. One for my favourites!
