About Taken from quite a distance. I liked the way they were all lined up, as if about to attack.

The cement blocks in this image are at the bottom of the dam wall that you can see in this image. http://www.usefilm.com/image/662938.html

I am standing at the top of the dam wall when I took this photo. Just to give you an idea of the size comparison.

This one is for Miguel Andrade. I hope you enjoy it.

The great lines, shapes and depth of colour are great. It would be a good shot without the birds, but with them it is excellent as well as great fun

Great picture. I like the contrast of the structured, perfectly lined, and coldness of the cement structures and the apparent imperfect order of the living beings. The title is the cherry on top! :) Nice image, i truly enjoy it. Regards, Rafael

The photo is excellent, dear Judi. I would not expect less from you. The dragon-teeth remind me of the obsacles the Germans, and every other army for that matter, used to attempt, usually unsuccessfully, to stop the advance of their enemys' tanks.
Thank you for your friendly remarks concerning my "Fish 1, 2 and 3."
Best regards,
Rafi

Soldiers marching out and some guards on the battlements as well. They look very warlike with their bazookas ready. Great colors and composition, and perfect framing. Cheers

The alignment of the birds is really amazing Judi.. this is like the flight of the national patrol in each country. Here you capture the training of the national see bird patrol..!! The tones are really beautiful and I like the structure and the way you "placed" it in your image wich gives the feeling of movement emphasizes by the direction of the birds alignement.
Excellent composition Judi
Congrats

Great image, composition, color and use of frame. I find the scum on the water, top right, a little awkward....but hay ho?

Even just the foreground would make a great shot.

Well done Judi

That title made me laugh out loud Judi. No, it's not an Aussie term. It was used over here frequently when I was a kid. Fantastic shot, love the composition. Looks to be a fav spot of theirs judging by the droppings on top of the bloscks.

Thankyou Hugo. I felt it was unusual in the way the birds presented themselves and their bright colourings agains the mud colourings of the water and the cement blocks.

Hi Judi, the contrast and the colourdepth are the key elements in this shot, I think. That, and the diagonal; It creates a very simple, but strong image. Very well composed. Very good choice of title.

Cheers,

Hugo
