The stains on the figure are there because it is made of cast iron which is painted white,it is rust showing through the paint, the cruxifix was fixed on a fencepost round a field for catlle.

Dear Jaap,
Interesting composition however I'd be very glad if you could please give an explanation about marks/grains on Jesus. It is nice to see that flowers' covering him.. Now I saw the barb wires and electric switch.. I got the idea..
