We went back to Germany for the holidays and spent a week near Aachen, on the border between Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium. An amazing city: built by the Romans, Charlemagne?s political center, now a city defined by its university and students.
Coming back after several years in the USA, we realized how much we miss bakeries and butchers in walking distance every time you think you may be hungry. In this picture you can see a bakery offering a variety of the special cookie called Aachener Printen. You can find a recipe at http://www.christmas-cookies.com/recipes/recipe56.php
Unfortunately, the D70 had a big smear on the sensor (low-pass filter), so I had to revert back to the little pocket Canon.
Picture details: Exposure 1/40s, aperture 2.8, focal length 7.4mm, no flash, no tripod.
Thank you for your kind remarks, Mark. I really only regret that the D70 (and the lenses) were unavailable when we spent the time in Aachen. So many great views that I could have captured.
