Welcome back . The first thought about this picture gives me a math "Reality vs virtuality.".
At a second thought I begin to feel like "Is this a political approach for what u see is not what u are going to get in year 2005".
Anyways very good composition.

I like the colors and feel of this. Wondering if differentiating between the real view and the reflection artificially would be interesting. One way to think about it is that you have the freedom to impart a complementary symbol or message in how you treat the left hand side. Ignore at will - just a somewhat vague idea in the new year :-)

Dear Hugo,
thanks a lot for your wishes. yes, the vacation was really great - hard to come back to reality =)
I wrote the remark about the symmetry as my girlfriend made a perfect diagonal shot of this setting. but you're right: This time it's hard to bring in some tension by geometry.
thanks a lot for the profound words.
take care, thilo

Hi Mark,
Thanks for the wishes. Originally, I thought about making a remark on the NON-PS manipulation... but I reject the idea as that's not my style anyway ;-)

Hallo Thilo,

Hi Thilo, A very happy and prosperous 2005 to you too! It's good to have you back. I trust you had a great time?
This sure is difficult to capture properly, but I think you did quite well. The "tendency towards symmetry" is in this case one of the key elements of the photo, I believe. Only a more diagonal composition could maybe have reduced that effect, but that would also introduce a more "forced" element.
The subject and the environment it's in (ESB) lends itself perfectly for such a shot. Impressive and colourful, and a very recognisable landmark. A clean shot of the tower could easily become a "cliché shot", and you prevented just that with this solution. Very well done, a well executed and creative approach....:)
Cheers,
Hugo
