This is a wonderfully tranquil picture. So reminiscent of Venice, down to the bridge! The light and exposure are both perfect and the lamp on the right adds just the right degree of warmth. Very nicely done.

Havent seen your work for a bit. I am pleased to to your new images, particularly this one. The lighting is amazing as is the mood of the moment. The feel of a town that hasn't changed much for a long time is so amazing. A little different for the pink stucco homes popping up all over the place here. I am envious ... lol. Hey i didn't know you were a rock jock! looks like a good bit of rock you are top roped on.
Cheers tim

This is very pretty, it has such a tranquil feel to it. It seem strange not seeing a stream of people walking around. The water reflections are beautiful. Happy New Year James. Alison

chris, i was indeed on a bridge and did use a tripod, but never thought to try different settings. actually, i was running out of time before i had to be on a bus back home, and while it wasn't that cold, i was outside all day, and without gloves on trying to adjust camera settings, it really had me just wanting to pack it in. i'll go back one more time and try different settings, as you kindly suggested.

Nice dusk shot...I won't be seeing any scenes like this in New England any time soon LOL Good details and lighting on the water, and the bridge in the near distance adds a nice touch...I take it you were on one as well while taking this? If you had a tripod (not sure) I probably would have used something like...f/10 at 4 seconds to extend the DOF and be razor sharp from end-to-end.

Well done. The lone outdoor light on the right really serves to enhance the mood and makes the image sing. Mark.
