Rebecca,

I have to say I've done very little night phtography yet with the S5000. I used to do a lot many years ago with a Fuji 35mm SLR and used to enjoy that. However the one criticism I have of the S5000 is the maximum 2sec exposure time. Typically I want 5-15secs or sometimes more for some of my night shots.

I must remember to put some Slide film in my Canon EOS 3000 SLR and take that out again. I've got a slide converter for the S5000 so it's fairly easy to get them from slide to digital and the colour quality of Slide images is retained in the transfer.

Beautiful colors, details and dof. I see you have the same camera as I..Have you tried many night shots? I do lousy at those. lol
