Country - Vietnam   Vietnam
About The minority people in Northwest Vietnam normally level the mountain to get space for cultivation of rice. These are step-paddies. As high as the mountain goes up, the steps would follow, no matter if it leads to the clouds or sky.

This photo has been taken at Chu Lin Pass along National Highway 4D from Lao Cai to Sa Pa Resort.

Thanks, Debarshi.

I was glad to visit your porfolio, and enjoyed your photos taken of the rice-field in your country. They are so beautiful, and I left my comments in there.

I like the idea of darkening the background, Ismael. But if I do so, Ian won't feel dizzy no more. I wan't to scare him!

Thanks for your comments. Regards,

Thanh.

Debarshi:

Thanks for your kind words.
I am curious to know about this type of step cultivation in the mountain regions of India. Please recommend me the links to those pictures.

Kathy:
Thanks for your comments.
You've got very good eyes on the hut. The animal is a water-buffalo, not a yak, which has long hair. I don't think we have this kind in Vietnam, even though local people have them to take the duty of tractors as using of yaks in Tibet or highland China.

Excellent shot and information. These type of step cultivation is very common in the mountain regions of India also.

Very nice photo. I like the way that photo is partitioned into 3 different sections and the lines draw you eyes into the center of the frame. The hut and the yak(?) add a good balance.
