Very nice silhouette of this pelican. The strong black against the background is perfect! Great job! Thanks for comment on my bird shot.
Cheers - Bill

Paul, Thanks for the comment on the horizontal vs. vertical composition, and for the other suggestions. I may try it as B/W or high contrast.

What a splendid silhouette! This could work in B&W, or even as a full-out high contrast shot. Nicely seen!

I prefer this composition. It has a better balance of light and dark IMO. I also think the shape of the rock and the negative space it creates is very interesting. I noticed that the color is slightly different on the other, and that the rock is in complete blackness. I liked these aspects of the other image.

Dave, Thanks, I think I agree. By the way, I love your Northern Shoveler shot.

Hi Michael! I took a look at your previous shot and in fact, I like this one a little better. The landscape orientation seem to suit the setting with the bird on the rocks, even though the bird itself is basically a vertical. The colour in this one seems more on the warm side, as well, which make it a little more attractive to me. Both good shots, though, and without seeing them side by side, I'd have a hard time picking one over the other. Dave.
