About
Happy Thanksgiving: An abstract presentation of a Wild turkey's brilliant plumage. Some historical info for UFC members from overseas. Early English settlers celebrated the first thanksgiving in America, after fleeing religious persecution in their native England. These were the Pilgrims or Religious Separatists who broke away from the Church of England because they felt that it had not completed the work of the Reformation. They committed themselves to a life based on the Bible. On Sept. 6, 1620 the Pilgrims set sail for the New World on a ship called the Mayflower. The Thanksgiving we celebrate was a harvest festival held in 1621 by the Pilgrims and their Native American neighbors. After the first Thanksgiving in 1621, it took over 200 years before Thanksgiving Day was officially proclaimed as a national day of thanksgiving, praise and prayer in 1863. Wild turkeys were abundant and over a century or so replaced the English delicacy, Roasted Goose. Ben Franklin thought the North American wild turkey should be the national bird. Now, I don't know about that!? :0)!
very cool perspective. Unusual view of things... You got a good eye. I like your work. On this one very nice textures and composition.
