This series is excellent, Pat. I love the composition with the dark water and the white birds bordered like a thick carpet on the water and then sprinkled up into the blue/gray sky.
The last time I had the chance to capture a large flock flying up from the water was in Punta Mita, Mexico (near Puerta Vallarta). I spent an hour or two in this quaint fishing village capturing the people, shacks, colorful boats and the flocks flying so close and all around me. After hiking back to the car I found that the film wasn't wound on the sprocket. I'll never forget that day.

Thanks Dottie. LOL Not quite -80. -60 or -70 if you count wind chill. -20 is probably about as cold as it gets. That's extream and dosen't happen very often. But we do stay below zero for weeks at a time in late December thu Feb. That is Farenheit of course.

Jesse. It is a s good. Especialy in Pierre, SD. The Canada geese just take over. Pierre has Lake Oahe which is Huge. Created by the Oahe Dam wicj is th second largest earthen dam in the world. Millions of Canada Geese for several weeks. This shot was taken farther east and south of pierre. You can count on the snows and blues to gather here every year.
